TVS Capital Funds, an Indian private equity fund that raised nearly Rs 2,000 crore in investor commitments domestically including co-investments in early 2021, has named Anuradha Ramachandran as its Managing Partner.
She would be part of the top leadership team along with chairman and managing director Gopal Srinivasan and vice chairman D Sundaram.
Ramachandran will lead the investment team that had been bolstered with the addition of Praveen Sridharan a year back as Partner.
She comes with over two decades of experience across venture capital (with Ventureast, Omidyar Network and global fintech focussed fund Flourish Ventures, setting up and managing its India investments and team), investment banking (with Lazard) and financial journalism.
Gopal Srinivasan, CMD of TVS Capital, said, she is joining at a time when the firm is doubling down on tech-driven business in two key sectors: digital financial services and digital commerce and enterprise services.
“In these two sectors, we have earned our right to win by consistently building our capability capital, a large ecosystem of advisors with deep domain expertise, to support founders in building great businesses. I am confident that Anuradha with her rich exposure to early-stage enterprises in general and fintechs, would bring significant thought leadership to our fund and will help scale the fund to the next level,” he said.
TVS Capital has raised around Rs 3,000 crore across three funds and made 30 investments. It currently backs technology-driven businesses in financial services and enterprise (B2B) services. Its latest fund counts among its portfolio unicorns like Digit Insurance, Five Star Business Finance and Yubi (CredAvenue).
