Paris-based mobile gaming publisher, TapNation, established in 2019 by Hervé Montoute and Igor Zabukovec, has quickly risen to prominence in the industry, earning a spot in the French Tech 120 for 2023. Now the company has received a substantial boost with a recent €15 million funding round.
Renowned investors, including Re-Sources Capital, Paluel-Marmont Capital, and select banking partners, contributed to this funding round, reinforcing TapNation’s position as a global industry player. The investment is expected to diversify the company’s game portfolio and strengthen its growth strategy while further enhancing its technological capabilities.
TapNation’s success can be attributed in part to its innovative technological platform, which facilitates game testing, player behavior analysis, and the identification of promising gameplays. With this platform, the company has achieved a remarkable feat – 30 of its games have ranked among the top global hits, accumulating over one billion downloads across various app stores.
Notably, TapNation has expanded its scope by introducing TN Labs, a specialized game development studio, aligning with its strategy to broaden its game offerings, particularly in more hybrid genres.
The company’s accomplishments have garnered recognition, earning it a place among the “Top 20 Worldwide Mobile Game Publishers.” It has also been featured in the French Tech 120 program, which celebrates French startups with significant global technological potential.
With a dedicated team of fifty experts, TapNation achieved a noteworthy €45 million in revenue in 2022, marking its third consecutive year of profitability.
Hervé Montoute, co-founder and leader of Tap Nation, commented, “With this fundraising of 15 million euros, we are at a pivotal moment in our journey as a mobile game publisher. This investment is proof of the faith our partners have in our vision and our ability to innovate. It will enable us to go even further, explore new territories in the mobile gaming industry, and continue to offer exceptional experiences to our players. We are very grateful to our investors for their support, and we are excited to share our passion for mobile games with the world.”
