Dutch impact investor Invest-NL invests €10 million in Extantia Capital, a climate-first venture capital firm. Extantia is also backed by investors such as Anglo American, Toyota Ventures (which invested in May Mobility), and top-tier family offices such as the Piëch and Oldendorff families. This investment follows the €300 million fund raised in 2022 to back climate tech companies.
Extantia’s unique strategy and already existing strong relationships in the Netherlands create a significant alignment of interest and enabled Invest-NL to pursue this investment. The investment underscores Invest-NL’s commitment to invest towards building a sustainable future for all and strengthening the Dutch high tech sector.
Extantia Capital will use the capital to invest in early-stage startups focused on developing deep technologies across energy, industrial processes, buildings, transportation and carbon removal in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe.
