French luxury rental and holiday company Le Collectionist, has raised €60 million in funding from investors led by growth capital investor Highland Europe (which backed Huel, Red Sift and Sosafe).

Expansion plans ahead

The investment will be used to accelerate the expansion of the business through selective acquisitions in areas where demand for Le Collectionist’s curation and quality is high. Also, the latest funding will help Le Collectionist to acquire more local champions to consolidate the fragmented market.

Following this funding round, Le Collectionist is opening more than 120 positions in 2023 to develop both its central office in Paris and existing local offices in the South-East and South-West of France, Barcelona, Ibiza and Switzerland, as well as to open new local offices in London and NYC.

Le Collectionist co-founder Max Aniort said: “Holidays are about creating memories and sharing once-in-a-lifetime moments with the people we love. This is what lies at the heart of everything we do at Le Collectionist. We want our guests to be given the best experiences and the attention they deserve to embrace and share precious time with family and friends. It’s great to have Irena and Highland Europe on this journey, as we share the same philosophy of excellence and leadership in everything we do.”

Irena Goldenberg, Partner at Highland Europe said: “Le Collectionist has become a beacon for luxury, experiential holidays. It’s a testament to the team and their unique and tailored approach to curating holidays that the company is now the world’s leading luxury experience provider, and a trusted brand, with the leading customer satisfaction metrics across the entire industry. The team is as selective about the owners they partner with and the experiences they offer as their customers, and we’re thrilled to be joining them.“

Offers luxury holiday homes!

Le Collectionist is a luxury travel brand offering travellers unique holiday rentals worldwide with hotel-like services. The company was founded in 2014 by Eliott Cohen-Skalli, Max Aniort and Olivier Cahane, and began through a desire to offer travellers a guaranteed luxury holiday that was as easy and as secure as booking a hotel room. The French startup currently has 250 employees, out of which two-thirds are based in France and one-third in seven of its international offices. Their employee gender ratio is 60% women and 40% men.

Also, this platform unlocks access to an exclusive list of the most exceptional homes in sought-after destinations, from the French Riviera to the Balearic Islands, Portugal, Italy, the Alps, St Barts, Cape Town and beyond, complemented by hotel-like concierge services. Le Collectionist currently partners with owners of 1,800 properties across 30 destinations.

Tailor-made experiences

In the post pandemic era, holidaymakers are looking for luxury property rentals that offer unique experiences. This trend of amazing experiences in stunning accommodation is set to be the biggest driver of growth across the global luxury travel market. Reportedly, it is estimated to be valued over $50 billion.

Le Collectionist’s partnerships with trusted guides, experience providers, restaurateurs, chefs and other local artisans, help to support local communities, skills, traditions, and craftsmanship.

Unlike competitors such as Airbnb, this platform offers a completely personalised service, in which a member of the team will arrange to have a brief phone call to discover the exact needs of the client. The company also customises the client’s holiday with a myriad of services. From organising a transfer to the airport to cocktail training classes, Le Collectionist ensures that your dream holiday is no longer just a dream.
